Fix Flaws in an Image with the Patch Tool of Photoshop

For bringing perfection to images, graphic designers use several Photoshop tools - Patch Tool being the most frequently used one. For graphic design companies, the tool is no less than a boon as it helps to fix any type of stains, holes in walls, blemishes, torn cloths etc. in images. Very similar to the Healing Brush Tool of Photoshop, with this tool graphics designers can easily define a selection where they want the effects to be applied. But unlike the Healing Tool, the patch tool acts like one of the Lasso Tools. Using pixels from another area or a pattern, the Patch Tool lets a graphic designer repair a selected area. By matching the lighting and shading of the sampled pixels to the source pixels, the Patch Tool rectifies the blemishes. With the tool, you can also clone isolated areas of an image.

In graphic & web design, using the Patch Tool is always a smarter idea to clone one area on top of another. The tool can be located in the Tools palette beside the Healing Brush Tool, the Spot Healing Brush Tool and the Red Eye Tool. In order to use the tool, you need to drag over either the area needing fixing or the area to fix it with. Then you need to click on the appropriate button (Source or Destination) indicating in the Tools Options bar whether you will fill this selection with a source data or just drag it to its destination. Then you are required to drag to complete the fix.

In graphic web design, the Patch Tool holds a very important position. Because of its ability to mix pixels from the source and destination selection, for a web graphic designers seamless skin repairs are a complete ease and moving complete elements in a photograph is just a work of a few seconds.
